Our comprehensive training program is meticulously designed to fully equip students for a successful career in Colon Hydrotherapy. Students will receive a solid introduction to the field, focusing on the crucial skills of setting up and preparing a treatment space for a successful and efficient practice. They will learn to confidently and correctly sanitize and prepare equipment, manage administrative tasks, and effectively communicate with clients, providing reassurance and knowledge about the treatments. This foundational stage ensures that business owners can have complete confidence in their staff, knowing that all operations, including insurance coverage, are professionally handled.
The course is tailored to prepare students for their journey as professional Colon Hydrotherapists. Uniquely, ICHTA allows students to select the Colonic Irrigation equipment they prefer for training, offering a choice between Closed System or Open System machines, or both. This unparalleled flexibility in training equipment choice sets our academy apart on a global scale.
Encompassing extensive practical and theoretical training, the course includes a total of 200 hours of instruction. This comprises face-to-face clinical hours under the guidance of an ICHTA Certified trainer, comprehensive written theory books, and an online theory app that students can access anytime, even after graduation. This approach ensures students gain unmatched expertise in Colon Hydrotherapy. Upon completion, students will not only receive a certificate but also the confidence to effectively treat any client.
Graduates, now Certified Therapists, will be recognized with a listing on our website, signifying their achievement and expertise in the field. This combined program is a gateway for students to become well-rounded, skilled, and confident professionals in the world of Colon Hydrotherapy.
Prerequisites for Enrollment at ICHTA
At the International Colon Hydrotherapy Training Academy (ICHTA), we are committed to upholding high standards in our training program to ensure our graduates are well-prepared for their roles as professional colon hydrotherapists. To this end, we have established the following prerequisites for enrollment in our training program. It’s important to note that these are recommendations, and exceptions can be made based on an individual’s interview and past experience.
Students should possess a High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification. This ensures that all our students have achieved High School Standards, providing a solid educational foundation for the advanced learning in our program.
Candidates who may not meet this educational criterion but demonstrate equivalent experience or learning through other means may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
We strongly recommend that each new student undergo a minimum of 10 colon hydrotherapy sessions prior to graduating. This experience is invaluable for understanding the procedure from a client’s perspective.
If a student has relevant healthcare experience or other mitigating circumstances, this requirement may be adjusted following a thorough review.
First Aid Certification:
A current first aid certificate or an equivalent certification is recommended. This ensures that our trainees are prepared to handle emergency situations during a colon hydrotherapy session.
Candidates with previous medical, nursing, or emergency response experience, or candidates that have demonstrated intention to complete their first aid training may have this requirement waived or modified.
We understand that each candidate brings unique experiences and skills to the table. Therefore, we consider each application holistically, taking into account personal interviews and past experiences. Our goal is to foster a diverse and skilled group of therapists who are passionate about advancing in the field of colon hydrotherapy.
Student Requirements for Graduation and Certification
To ensure that our students are thoroughly prepared for a successful career in colon hydrotherapy, the International Colon Hydrotherapy Training Academy (ICHTA) has established a comprehensive set of requirements for graduation and certification. These requirements are designed to ensure that our graduates possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to excel in this field.
Students must successfully complete 200 hours of training. This includes both theoretical learning and practical hands-on experience. Students and Trainers are to log these hours in the Student Training Log.
Students must demonstrate a firm understanding of all course content. This is assessed by their Trainer through written or online tests, practical demonstrations, and the ability to answer questions related to each module. This process is overseen by the Principal of the Academy.
Students are required to complete and pass all practical assessments, which include performing colon hydrotherapy sessions including initial consultations under supervision, demonstrating correct setup and maintenance of equipment, and adhering to hygiene and sanitation protocols.
Depending on the course structure, students may be required to submit detailed case studies or logs of their practical sessions. This helps to demonstrate their hands-on experience and learning progression.
Students must agree to and sign a code of ethics and professional conduct, committing to uphold the standards and integrity of the profession.
Students must demonstrate competent clinical skills, including client assessment, session management, and post-session care.
Clinical hours must be completed under the supervision of a certified trainer or practitioner until the trainer deems the student competent and confident to conduct a complete colon hydrotherapy appointment including new client consultation and intake unassisted and unsupervised. The number of hours required will differ per student depending on past experience and is to be determined by their trainer.
Students can participate in feedback sessions and evaluations, providing insight into their learning experience and areas for improvement.
Students will receive formal recommendation or approval from their certified trainer, mentor or Academy Principal indicating their readiness for certification. This document is called the Trainer’s Report.
By fulfilling these requirements, students of ICHTA can be confident in their abilities and preparedness to enter the professional world of colon hydrotherapy, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding necessary for a successful practice.
ICHTA recognises previous Colon Hydrotherapy Training and Experience. Please include your previous certifications and relevant work experience in your application and your trainer will determine the number of credits you receive towards your application.
